“Shade”

Bred by Simon & Karen Mills and Co-owned by S&K Mills & S&R Norbury. Shade was shown exclusively by Sue Norbury to his Grand Champion.
Shade was an All Breeds Best in Show & Runner-up in Show winner, Best of Breed Brisbane Royal 1999, Challenge Dog Weimaraner Club of NSW Specialty Show in October 1998 and a Multi BIG & RUBIG winner. He sired 9 Champions and 3 Grand Champions.
Shade was a fantastic show dog and always gave 110%.
He was known for his beautiful gentle temperament and was always very popular with puppies.

Shade never did a thing wrong, but was often led astray by his daughter Folly who was a thief.
One night I had a big pot of chicken soup on the stove and walked outside for two minutes to lock the chooks up for the night, as I came in through the back door Shade was standing there to greet me, he had chicken soup, rice and vegetables all over his head. I walked into the kitchen to see Folly had upended the chicken soup all over Shade and then polished the lot off, leaving us with one drumstick…

Shade was retired from showing shortly after taking out Runner-up in Group at the Spring Fair aged seven.

Shade was a true gentleman of the breed and will be missed always.
